ILLUMII Asked…
What type of provider would best understand the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, Autism, Depression, and/or Anxiety and its comorbidities?
Perhaps an obvious answer might be...
a physician that has ADHD, is the mother of two children with ADHD and is married to a person with ADHD,
Or a family medicine physician that attended UNC Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree and Wake Forest University medical school and Family Medicine residency program,
Or perhaps a physician that has been treating these types of patients for over 17 years,
Or a doctor that has two children with ADHD comorbidities such as autism, anxiety and depression, and several learning differences,
Or a provider that keeps up to date with the latest research on diagnosis and treatment for ADHD, autism and learning differences,
Or someone who knows exactly how exhausting the whole process of living with these issues can be...
Each of these attributes describes Dr. Lisa Caporossi MD, CMD. Dr. Caporossi sees already-established clients at Illumi. If the attributes noted above are what your family needs, please contact the office for further details and to schedule an appointment.

ANNIE B. CARTER | Special Education Advocate
I know parents cannot do it all. When you are meeting with school personnel to discuss your child’s unique educational needs as a parent, you simply cannot be the parent, listener, questioner, active team member, advocate and creative thinker at the same time. That is where I come in.
As a special education advocate, I work with parents and school personnel collaboratively to help ensure the individualized instruction a child is receiving meets the specific needs of that child.
As both a parent of a child with special needs and a teacher, I can see both viewpoints. I realize my unique perspective can help parents traverse the often confusing world of special education. I know the laws and procedures that govern special education, and I know how difficult it is to become an advocate for your child so that they receive appropriate services in school.
From attending school meetings, parent/teacher conferences to researching options best for each child, I understand every child is unique and offers services designed around each child and their needs. My passion is to help your child thrive.

NICOLE IVERSON | Executive Function/ADHD Coach
I spend my days life-coaching, cooking, reading, and traveling with the world’s greatest friends and family. The desire to mindfully parent my two (now young adult) children has been the main motivation for my own personal development, inspiring me to stay present, and approach each moment with a clear and open heart. The skills I have learned through this commitment greatly benefit my relationships with my family, colleagues, and friends and enhanced my work in elementary education.
I have been deeply curious about people for as long as I can remember. At a young age I would tirelessly question anyone in reach about their innermost thoughts, frustrations, and joys. Over the years I have found myself maintaining this open and curious space for people in times of change. In this space I have found that self-knowledge arises, allowing us to make choices and set goals from a more authentic place. It is my honor and great joy to widen my circle of influence and guide people like you through the Grounded Growth process.
The belief that peace, joy, and freedom are the birthright of everyone- no exceptions- guides my practice. I enjoy working in my community for environmental and social justice. Both my B.A. and M.A. are in Human Geography and I remain fascinated by the dialectic between people and place at all scales. I am a certified life coach and member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the ADHD Coaches Organization, and the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA).
Born and raised under the big skies of Texas, I have lived in Austria, Bali, New Zealand, and all over the USA- even Guam! I am currently based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
