I grew up as an Air Force Brat that moved around every few years. It was a pattern of losing friends, moving everything we had, and starting somewhere new. However, as an adult, I am very thankful for that life as it provided me many chances to see different places and adapt to different surroundings, as well as be able to grow comfortable in meeting new people and making new friends. So early on, I learned to have an open mind, to be positive, and enjoy the chance to meet so many different, interesting people. 

The one constant in my life was soccer. And as a teenager, I got a chance to coach for the first time! That opportunity lit a fire in me that grew into a passion for teaching and serving others. My desire to learn how to help others figure out the best ways to solve problems, achieve their goals, and feel confident in their abilities turned into a lifelong career of being a coach and educator. 

Being an educator and coach means listening to others. It means getting to know who is in front of you.  It is about developing and actively being a part of transformational relationships. Unless the student trusts you, they will not learn from you. I invest in each client no matter what we are working on - from learning time management skills, to communication skills, to how to use context clues in reading (or in social situations), it is truly a gift to have the chance to help and positively influence people whether through helping them gain tools that will help them succeed in life!
