SPEECH-LANGUAGE
Evaluations

caring, connecting, communicating

Regardless of what your communication concerns may be about your child, from “not talking enough” to “I can’t understand what he is saying” we are here to help! Our licensed Speech-Language Pathologists and related staff specialize in treating children and adolescents. From the first meeting, we aim to make the interactions fun and engaging while building on your child/teen’s communication skills.

As a part of all evaluations and therapy sessions, our therapists partner with parents/caregivers to provide hands-on training and education regarding how, when, and why to work on certain communication skills. We encourage caregivers to take part in sessions so that progress and development may continue throughout the times in the week when your child is not in therapy.

SERVICES

SPEECH-LANGUAGE Screening

A speech-language screening is a quick assessment (approximately 15 minutes) of a child’s articulation, fluency, voice, and language to determine if there is a need for further evaluation.

SPEECH-LANGUAGE Evaluations

A speech-language evaluation is the measurement of communication skills to determine if a delay or disorder is present. We use information from parents/caregivers, observation, and formal and informal assessment tools. Materials involved are child-friendly and much of our assessment is play-based. At the end of the process, families receive a report detailing the findings and, if needed, a plan of care that outlines goals for therapy.
